Making Full Mouth Reconstruction Comfortable In Palm Desert

As the leading prosthodontists in the Palm Desert, we field a variety of questions from prospective patients. One group of questions that we often receive center on our full mouth reconstruction procedures. The office of Craig Conrow DDS MS FACP makes use of the most up-to-date equipment and techniques.

A Brief Look At Full Mouth Reconstruction

It should be understood that full mouth reconstructions are not a singular procedure. A more proper understanding of full mouth reconstructions is that they are multiple procedures. As a prosthodontistc lead practice, we combine several dental treatments to address major dental problems. After a successful reconstruction, our patients enjoy an improved quality of life.

Full mouth reconstructions are useful in fixing the following dental problems:

  • Worn teeth
  • Previous restoration problems with cracked, decaying, and other nonfunctional teeth
  • Misaligned teeth and bite
  • Continuous pain in dental tissues & muscles (particularly in jaw & neck)

Full Mouth Reconstruction, Fully Pain-Free

Correcting multiple dental issues can require a considerable amount of time and requires delicate work. Many patients quickly experience anxiety at the thought of the pain they’ll endure during a full mouth reconstruction. Our team uses a variety of methods to provide our patients with pain-free procedures. Here are a few:

Nitrous Oxide Sedation — This colorless gas helps patients to relax once inhaled. When we administer nitrous oxide, we also follow safe directives. Hence, you can be assured of your safety. This sedation method does not induce sleep, but it will reduce stress and discomfort while the procedures take place. Once the patient ceases to breathe in the gas, the effects rapidly begin to wear off.

Oral Conscious Sedation — After verifying that oral conscious sedation is appropriate for you, we’ll provide it in pill form a few minutes before the treatment. This sedation method is more powerful than nitrous oxide. When patients require a longer treatment time or have significant dental anxietiesanxiety, oral conscious sedation is a good option. The active ingredients in this sedation option last for about a day.
